Adieu L'Amour

Adieu L'Amour

Adieu L'Amour

Navarrio was sitting on his bed, deep in his thoughts. This day would be the best as well as the most painful day in his life. It's the Farewell day of his school life. And, they have booked a hall for their celebration and it will commence at 6:30 pm. She will come for sure, how could I face her? thought Navarrio. "Didn't you depart, yet?" asked his mom. He stood and said, "I'm about to depart, mom." Then he took his backpack, full of gifts for his friends and a special one for her. And, he decided not to go to the celebration.                                     ****** The decorations were great and the hall booked by them was magnificent. They all assembled on time and the Head of their batch welcomed them all.  Shakshi sat beside to Abiyah, who looked charming. They all enjoyed among themselves by playing various games and Shakshi and Abiyah remained intact in their positions. "Didn't you go?" asked Abiyah. "Um...nope." replied Shakshi. "Oh okay." replied Abiyah. Few minutes passed and two boys crossed Shakshi and Abiyah and they were talking, "Where is Navarrio?" and the one replied, "He didn't arrive yet." "Let's drink a glass of juice, shall we?" asked Shakshi. "Okay," replied Abiyah. They reached a place where juice was served and they got a glass full of lemonade and began to sip it. "You see, Abi " said Shakshi, "The lemon is crushed so that we could feel its sweetness." Abiyah looked clueless. Why was Shakshi telling this? "Mm...yeah." she replied. A minute passed and Shakshi said, "Navarrio didn't miss the Farewell. The Farewell misses him." Abiyah didn't react. She just concentrated on sipping her lemonade. "Didn't you feel it?" asked Shakshi. "Sweetness in the lemonade? No, I feel it." Abiyah replied. "Great observation, Abi." chuckled Shakshi. Abiyah smiled back. "What do you think about Navarrio?" asked Shakshi. Abiyah thought for a moment, glanced at her lemonade and said, "He's sweeter than this." Shakshi smiled and said, "Great." "Why did you ask now?" asked Abiyah. "Finish it, let's go." said Shakshi and they both finished their lemonades and went to their seats.                                     ****** Navarrio stopped stepping into the hall. He is no more interested in celebrating Farewell. He didn't wish to look at Abiyah anymore. He reminded himself that it's a teen life problem. But, he didn't wish to face her, again. Why is he adamant on not seeing her? How could you step on the same thorn when you know its pierce is painful? Abiyah went in search of gold and she lost a diamond. And so, Navarrio is reluctant to enter the hall and he will not be able to bear the pain of the same thorn, again. So, he found a tree beside the hall and sat underneath it. He never wanted that thorn to pierce his heart anymore. Abiyah began to feel uneasy with Shakshi. But she didn't show why. Why did Shakshi keep on speaking about Navarrio? She had no idea. "Waiting for someone?" Shakshi asked. "Nope." replied Abiyah with doubtful eyes. "I know you won't." replied Shakshi, "Why search for a crushed flower which was once beautiful?" "I don't get it." replied Abiyah. The conversation became intense. "You won't get anything if you banish others, Abiyah." said Shakshi. "Whom did I banish?" asked Abiyah with a baffled look. "The one who didn't come today. The one who sacrificed his love as you went for an another. The one who's about to write these terrible incidents as a story. The one who is sitting outside underneath a tree so that he won't see you anymore." said Shakshi with eyes full of rage. "You mean..." started Abiyah. "It's Navarrio." finished Shakshi. "He misunderstood everything!" said Abiyah as she stood up and rushed out of the hall. Shakshi looked at Abiyah and said to herself, "Misunderstood?"                                      ***** Abiyah came out of the hall. The sky darkened. Few metres away from her, she spotted Navarrio sitting underneath a tree. She moved towards him. Navarrio kept his bag to his right and was drawing with his feet on the sand. Then he sensed a shadow and lifted his head to see who it was. It was Abiyah. The one who he thought to forget is in front of him. What will he do? "Why didn't you come there?" Abiyah asked and she was breathing heavily. "Why did you come here?" Navarrio asked. That just broke Abiyah's heart. "I've come for you." she replied. "I thought you will be performing a ballad with him." said Navarrio. Navarrio didn't realize that he was hurting her continuously. He was enraged. "Him?" asked Abiyah. "Yeah, the one who you chose." said Navarrio. "I didn't choose anyone." stressed Abiyah. "Yes, you did" enraged Navarro. "No, I didn't" replied Abiyah. Navarrio went silent for a while. Abiyah sat beside him and Navarro moved apart from her. "Misunderstood me? That's how you love me?" asked Abiyah. "You left me." said Navarro. The sky darkened even more. "You believe in rumors and not in me?" asked Abiyah. That question made Navarrio think. Suddenly, all his anger faded away. After all, on hearing someone's words, he distrusted the one whom he loved the most. "I believe in you, Abi. You love me?" asked Navarrio. "Brought any gift?" she asked and apparently she ignored Navarrio's question. "Yeah..." said Navarrio as he took his backpack and took out the gift, which was wrapped by wrapping papers. "I've bought a watch for you, with an inscription NA on its center. Let the time flow with NA." he said as he unwrapped the box and took out a silver watch. "That's great!" shrieked Abiyah and received it from him and tied on her wrist. "Got something for me?" asked Navarrio. Abiyah looked at his eyes. "Yes." she said and she approached closer to Navarrio. "Yes?" asked Navarrio. "Yes...I'm your gift" said Abiyah as she kissed him. And, the sky wept in emotion on seeing their love.                                     ***** Then, they entered the Hall and their farewell celebrations went pretty well and Shakshi was happy to see Navarrio and Abiyah together. They may get separated. But their hearts won't. Teen love maybe messy but it's true. Navarrio and Abiyah will be happy forever.
